Classic Monks v2.2.2

August 19, 2026

Classic Monks v2.2.2 delivers sortable log tables, reliable SMTP connection priority saving, cleaner email encoding, and a fixed Admin Columns drag-reorder experience. 1 core rework. 1 new feature. 3 enhancements. 8 bug fixes.

Sortable 404 and Search Log Tables

Both 404 and Search log tables now support click-to-sort on key columns — Hits, Status, and Results. Sort preferences persist across page loads so your chosen order is always remembered between sessions.

SMTP & Email Reliability

Several email workflow pain points have been resolved:

  • Connection Priority Saving: Drag-reordering SMTP connection cards now saves correctly alongside other settings — no more lost priority changes when clicking Save.
  • Character Encoding: Outgoing emails are always sent in the correct character set, eliminating garbled or mojibake characters from SMTP-delivered messages.
  • Provider Credential Validation: Amazon SES, Cloudflare, and similar providers no longer trigger false “missing API key” errors on save.
  • Clean Log Drawer Preview: Raw CSS and JavaScript from HTML emails no longer bleed into the log drawer message preview.

Admin Columns Drag Reorder Fixed

Reordering columns in the Admin Columns Manager now correctly activates the Save button and preserves the new column sequence on save — the drag handle is constrained to the correct axis and dirty state tracking is reliable.

WordPress Version: 7.1
WooCommerce Version: 11.0.1

Short Link Click Log Cleanup: Housekeeping for short link click records now runs once daily in the background rather than on every click, reducing database overhead on high-traffic sites.Improved
SMTP Connection Priority Saving: Dragging SMTP connection cards into a new priority order now saves correctly alongside other settings — no more lost reorder changes when saving the page.Improved
Email Character Encoding: Outgoing emails now always send in the correct character set, preventing garbled or mojibake characters in messages delivered through SMTP.Fixed
Email Provider Credential Validation: Required credentials are now validated against the actual fields each provider uses, so Amazon SES, Cloudflare, and similar providers no longer get blocked by a false "missing API key" error on save.Fixed
Duplicate SMTP Provider Entries: Amazon SES and Netcore no longer appear twice in the SMTP provider list.Fixed
Email Log Drawer Preview: Raw CSS and script blocks from HTML emails no longer leak into the message preview shown in the log drawer.Fixed

Redirect Suggestion Query: A rare malformed database query in the redirect suggestion engine — triggered when no keywords could be extracted from a URL — no longer occurs.Fixed
License Cron Deactivation: Plugin deactivation now cleanly removes scheduled license checks without triggering a cron write conflict that could surface as a "could not save" error.Fixed
Admin Columns Drag Reorder: Dragging columns into a new order in Admin Columns Manager now reliably tracks the change as unsaved — the Save button activates correctly and the new order is preserved on save.Fixed

Special Thanks

  • Yann Ott: Reported email provider credential validation blocking Amazon SES and Cloudflare connections with a false “missing API key” error on save.
